Ashwagandha is also known as Withaniasomnifers. Ashwagandha when used on long term basis enhances memory and improves cognition.
A research study on 50 adults is conducted, wherein two separate groups are treated with Ashwagandha and Placebo for about 8 weeks, to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Ashwagandha root extract in improving memory and cognitive functioning in adults with mild cognitive impairment.
The results of the study were found to be positive when compared between the placebo and Ashwagandha treated groups. The Ashwagandha root extract is effective in enhancing the memory as well as improving executive function, attention and informative processing speed.
